How to Get Cell Phone Service in a Dead Zone - Hiboost

The kind of life we have been living these days has a lot to do with cell phones. The majority of our daily activities involve the use of cell phones, and discovering that there is no cell phone signal and that you will be unable to use your phone at all is the most inconvenient thing ever. But at times, we are not left with many options as we are not aware of the steps to follow to at least try and get the signals on our cell phones. So, if you find yourself in a cellular dead zone, you can follow some of the steps and see if any of them work.

But before getting into the details, let us first understand what a cellular dad zone is.

A cellular dead zone is an area where there are no cell phone signals at all, or even if there are, they are not strong enough to make it work. Most of us are still puzzled as to why there are dead cellular zones. So we’ve listed some of the most common causes of dead cellular zones.

Causes of dead cellular zones

1. Cell phone tower distance: It has been proven that the closer the tower is to your location, the stronger the cellular signals will be. On the contrary, if the signal tower is far away from your home or office area, you are most likely to face the issues of no signal or weak signal.

2. Material used: The cellular signals are in the form of rays that transmit from the tower to reach where you are. But at times, the materials used during the construction of buildings tend to interfere with the transmission of these signals. They either reflect the signals back or do not allow the signals to transmit at all.

3. Weather: Weather is another major constraint that tends to interfere with the transmitting signals of the cellular network. Especially during the rainy season or when it is cloudy, the transmission of the signals of the cellular network gets affected.

4. Geographical area: The kind of geographical area that one lives in also affects the cellular network in an area. The area surrounded by hills or mountains is more likely to have more dead cellular zones or weak signals. This is because of the fact that the signals do not get the space to be transmitted due to constraints from these geographical features.

5. Surroundings: If you live in a place surrounded by tall buildings, you are most likely to have the problem of weak or no cell phone signals. The logic is very similar to that of living in an area with high mountains. The buildings, too, like the mountains, tend to interfere with the transmission of the signals, hence making it difficult for the residents to use the cellular network with ease.

After looking at the various factors that cause the dead cellular zones, let us now understand the solutions. Which means taking a look at the steps that can help in improving the quality of the signals in dead cellular zones.

1. Try Wi-Fi Calling: – If your phone has not been able to detect the cellular signals, another way that might work is to try wi-fi. You can try connecting your phone with personal or public Wi-Fi and making the calls using the same network.

2. Cellular Signal Boosters: These are the devices that can be used at home or office to boost cellular signals. The basic idea behind these devices is that they pick up the surrounding signals, which might as well be weak, boost them, and in turn provide the signals with great quality that can be further used by the users.

But the thing here to be noted is that signal boosters only work if there are signals, even if they are quite weak. For them to work, they need signals. They cannot work at places where there are no signals at all. There are various types of signal boosters available on the market today, from which you can select one depending upon your requirements and budget.

3. Switching carriers: There’s a chance that the cell phone provider you’re using for the cellular network isn’t providing the best service in your area, or that their tower is too far away, which could be the issue. In this case, you can always check and switch to other carriers who might as well be able to provide the best services in your area.

4. Update your phone: Another option for getting proper signals on your phone is to update your phone. Those who have complained about call drops should be aware that they are not always the result of network issues. There are times when the phone drops calls automatically if the software in the phone has not been updated. So, if you are facing such a problem, it is always advisable to update the software on your cell phone.

5. Find the nearest tower: There are various apps available that can help you find or identify the nearest tower of the network you are using. Not that you can go and live near the tower to get good quality signals, but because this can help you identify the next step. If the tower is quite far away from your place, this means you need to switch the carrier. You can also check which carrier has access nearby so that you can go with the one that would be able to provide you with the best services.

6. Toggle the airplane mode: Sometimes it’s not the network but your device that’s causing problems. For this, simply switch on the aeroplane mode and then turn it off. Do it a couple of times. There are chances that the lost cellular signals will be retried. This is simply due to the fact that when you switch on and then switch off aeroplane mode, you reset the cell phone network settings. An alternative to this could be to switch off the device entirely and switch it on again.

So these are some of the steps you can follow in order to get the cellular signals into the dead cellular zone.
